· Must have OpenStack experience
· 5+ years’ experience as a support or development engineer for virtualization or cloud technologies on Linux
· Experience working with Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms
· Good understanding of Linux command line tools
· Linux operating system installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance experience is a big plus
· Solid development-level experience with Python and experience writing patches
· In-depth knowledge of filesystem standards, network architecture, high availability, identity management, and REST APIs
· Experience with tcpdump analysis, Open vSwitch networking, and MySQL databases
· Upstream involvement in open source projects, including patches submitted for upstream inclusion, is a plus
Job Summary:
· The Infrastructure Cloud Engineering team is looking for an experienced Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) engineer to join as an OpenStack Platform Technical Engineer.
· In this role, candidate will provide support and engineering services to the team and the enterprise, and candidate will help the team resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
· Candidate will regularly collaborate with our top developers and architects and assist our team of engineers with complex and challenging issues.
· Candidate will also partner closely with the development and engineering teams and work alongside some of the brightest developers in the open source community.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
· Partner with the Openstack, SDN, Docker & container upstream communities to develop and review patches and test cases
· Analyze upstream development against current, customer-reported defects and develop patches to resolve issues
· Use command line tools to diagnose network issues and message queue problems
· Record support and development interactions to detail investigation efforts, troubleshooting, and the resolution of issues
· Work closely with development engineers and production support engineers
· Demonstrate considerable judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions
· Maintain a commitment to providing the best experience possible for client’s customers
· Manage your workload to ensure all customer issues are handled and resolved in a timely manner
· Assist in the development of comprehensive, reusable, self-service solutions for future incidents
· 10-20% of the work will be racking and stacking servers and performing cabling duties
